sara thorn. dreams of a golden thread PDF Print E-mail
This exhibition showcased the textile works of Sara Thorn. Through these cloths the artist forged a connection between ancient textile traditions and a contemporary sensibility.

Thorn's work is directly influenced by extensive travel and a Spanish ancestry. The display included silk jacquards produced in Italy, hand-embroidered drawings from India, and Pua Kumbu hand-woven ikat ritual cloths commissioned in Sarawak.

The works incorporate a personal vision of textiles that have been produced using historical and traditional textile craft techniques.
